Owners/Directors
Our Owners came to Brant Children’s Centre Academy with a wealth of experience. They have been successfully running Learning Blocks Montessori School locations in Halton since 2014. Nitin is trained in Business Management and Michelle is trained in Engineering/Education. They both are very passionate about educating young minds and making sure our students develop a strong emotional and educational base before leaving our centre.
Janine Stewart, RECE
School Supervisor
Our Supervisor Janine first came to Brant Children’s Centre during her student placement upon graduating from Sheridan College with her ECE. She was immediately hired on and began her long journey with Brant Children’s Centre. Over her 38 years with Brant, she has had the opportunity to work in every classroom, ran the Morning Pre-School program and After School program, work behind the scenes in the Office. She is caring, compassionate and passionate about working with children, making sure that each child is loved and cared for like they were her own.
Sendi Gallo, RECE
Assistant Supervisor
Our Assistant Supervisor Sendi Gallo is a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) who has been in the field for over 25 years. She chose to make Brant Children’s Centre her home for the past 17 years. She believes in building strong relationships with staff, children and the families thus creating a family atmosphere which fosters learning. She has remained current in the field by continuously participating in webinars and a variety of professional development courses. She enjoys bringing her knowledge back to the centre to build on our programs or creating new ones!!!
Cabrini Carvalho
Operation’s Manager
She holds a Montessori Diploma and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She has over 11 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Cabrini has been a very important part of Learning Blocks’ team since Dec 2016. She began her journey as a Casa Teacher and was then promoted to the Supervisor role at our Milton location, where she worked for next 5 years. Currently, she oversees all the locations, working collaboratively with the staff, children, and families to foster warm, engaging, and enriching learning environment. She takes great joy in setting up purposeful classrooms, creating hands-on learning materials, and ensuring our programs align with Ministry of Education standards through regular onsite inspections. She believes in cultivating strong, meaningful relationships within our school communities, creating a family-like atmosphere that supports each child’s growth. As a lifelong learner, she is always seeking new ways to enhance her practices and share insights with her team to help us all grow together. She looks forward to working with you and supporting the children in our care.
Rebecca Arthurs
Waterdown Supervisor
She is a RECE with over 12 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Rebecca has been a very important part of Learning Blocks’ team since August 2014. She began her journey as a Casa Teacher and was then promoted to the Supervisor role at our Burlington location. When we opened our Waterdown location in April 2024, she moved to this location. She believes in working collaboratively with the staff and families to foster a warm, engaging and enriching learning environment. She looks forward to working with you and supporting the children in our care.
Cleta Pinto
Oakville Supervisor
She holds a Montessori Diploma with over 15 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Cleta has been a very important part of Learning Blocks’ team since Sept 2022. She began her journey as a Casa Teacher and was then promoted to the Supervisor role. She oversees all aspects of the Child Care Centre, ensuring a nurturing and stimulating environment for every child. With responsibilities spanning programming, administrative functions, and staff leadership, Cleta Pinto brings a wealth of experience to the role. Her goal is to create a collaborative and supportive community where children thrive, and educators feel empowered. She loves art, crafting, cooking, and organizing events. She believes that creativity and organization are key to a happy and fulfilling life!
Hira Rizwan
Burlington Supervisor
She holds a Montessori Diploma with over 12 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. She has been a very important part of Learning Blocks’ team since Jan 2021. She started her journey as a Casa Teacher and was then promoted to the Supervisor role in Oct 2023. As the Supervisor, her goal is to create a learning environment where each child is nurtured with respect, care, and a deep understanding of their unique potential. She believes that children thrive when given the freedom to make choices, the encouragement to take responsibility, and the guidance of trained and compassionate educators. She supports her dedicated teaching team to ensure the smooth daily operation of the school, and maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all our children. She works closely with families to build a strong home-school connection, because we know that when educators and parents partner together, children flourish. Whether your child is just beginning their Montessori journey or continuing to grow with us, she looks forward to being part of their development.
Filiz Doven
Milton Supervisor
She graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Sheridan College and has over 9 years of experience working with children in a public school as well as childcare centers. She has been a very important part of Learning Blocks’ family since Nov 2020. She started as a toddler teacher and was then promoted to the Supervisor role in 2022. She continues to grow as an educator and a leader. She loves to be around children and believes that every child is a unique individual who deserves a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment to explore, learn and thrive. She views early childhood education as a partnership between educators, families, and the children themselves, working together to create a foundation for lifelong learning.
